Every member of the North Bridge Dental team is devoted to ensuring that their skills and knowledge remain at the forefront of dentistry, so we can deliver the best *pain free dentistry in Hawick.
Many first-time dentistry patients to North Bridge are amazed and reassured by our approach. We often have patients tell us that they have a feeling their previous dentist experiences of quick visits for a ‘check-up’ are taking a ‘patch-up’ approach to their mouths, which may not be the best in the long-term. Technology and preventive science have come a long way in dentistry.

After qualifying in Edinburgh in 1983 I moved to London and worked in a very busy city practice for 8 years. I moved to Hawick with my family in ’92 and became a partner at North Bridge Dental soon after.
Working exclusively with award winning Vision Laboratory I can achieve an outstanding quality of veneers, crown, and bridgework. Advances in modern composite materials allow me to recreate highly realistic tooth-coloured restorations, enhancing the aesthetics of fillings and broken teeth. It’s enormously satisfying to be able to improve the function and appearance of patient’s teeth and to see the difference it makes to people’s lives.
The provision of general and preventive dentistry is paramount, as is the education of our patients, in understanding the importance of oral hygiene, diet and lifestyle and the consequences for the health of their mouths. It is as important to me that our team helps patients in offering the best restorative care possible.
Having recently turned 60 I have reduced my practicing hours at North Bridge to allow me to pursue other interests including cycling, gardening, spending time with my amazing grandchildren and just enjoying the beautiful countryside of the Scottish Borders. This allows me to retain my enthusiasm for Dentistry in the time I spend at North Bridge and hopefully will allow me to continue here for many years.
In 1995, I graduated from the University of G.T.Popa, Iasi, and became qualified to practice as a dentist. I continued to undertake numerous professional development courses in Romania and abroad, culminating with a specialist qualification in General Dentistry in 1998 and a diploma in implantology in 2005. I moved to the west of Scotland in 2011. I then moved to Edinburgh where I continued to develop and update my skills and attended a one year course leading to a Certificate in Restorative dentistry from the prestigious Tipton Dental Academy in Manchester.
I am very passionate about my job as a dentist and I am implementing a holistic approach to dentistry as I believe seeing the teeth as a part of the whole body can influence and change the quality of my patients’ lives. It is an amazing and rewarding experience to make that happen every day.
I profoundly believe in preventative dental care and keeping teeth for life as well as in modern dentistry where all the procedures should be aesthetic.
Altroviso our facial aesthetic brand gives me the opportunity to offer our patients a complimentary cosmetic treatment option from smooth skin treatments to lip volume enhancement using Dermal Fillers for men and women.
I am very proud to be part of the team here at North Bridge Dental and I love the fact that we all have a close working relationship with one another making us seem like a small family.
I believe I have a reputation in treating nervous patients as I have worked in dental care for several years. I provide general dental care and also provide aesthetically focused teeth straightening. I am a strong advocate of patient focused dental care and tailor every care plan to each patient’s need through effectively listening to patients and explaining procedures.
I have trained and worked in the dental practice management field which means I am able to understand the patient journey in depth and work in a strong relation with the dental team to deliver the best patient care.
Out of work, I enjoy reading dentistry books and spend a lot of time cooking. Photography and travelling are a couple of other interests I have which fill my weekends nicely.
I graduated from Dundee Dental School in 1999 and have been working in a large family dental practice for the last 20 years. I have a particular interest in helping anxious patients and children, both of which I find very rewarding.
I enjoy improving my clinical skills and have completed several courses in cosmetic dentistry and facial rejuvenation injections. Most recently I have finished my training in snoring and sleep apnoea. In my spare time I can be found walking my dog, or running the local trails in between rehearsing and competing with two of the borders brass bands.
I started my career as a dental nurse in the RAF at the age of seventeen. As much as I enjoyed my time in the military, I wanted to further my skills. I went on to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy at the University of Birmingham, qualifying in 2009.

I qualified as a dental hygienist/therapist at Liverpool University in 2010 having previously worked as a dental nurse for 3 years. My aim is to maintain and improve the standard of oral hygiene treating and preventing gum disease.
I will do my best to make your appointment as comfortable and informative as possible. I love to teach my patients about the importance of looking after their teeth and gums at home and am optimistic that by instructing them in the correct use of toothbrushes and interdental aids they will have a happier healthier mouth. I also hope it means that they will find their visits to see me more interesting as I do like a good catch up with their news.
